People throughout our neighborhood recognize that litter is more than a nuisance, it hurts property values and erodes our sense of community pride. Together we can make a difference. The Carrick Litter Patrol was created to organize Clean-Up events, and ongoing litter removal in Carrick, using the support of volunteer citizens throughout the community.

Small steps lead to BIG changes!

Carrick Litter Patrol's ABC's - Adopt a Block Custodians

We need Custodian volunteers to help us keep Carrick clean. Our goal is to have several Adopt a Block Custodians for every block.
These are volunteers who will make a promise, and commit to clean a portion of their street as they are able. Every Custodian will remove litter at their own pace, some will do it daily, others weekly, a couple times a month or maybe several times a year.
The Key is the promise.
If our community pitches-in, in this small way, we can clean all our litter and keep our neighborhood beautiful.

* Glass Bottles ---------------------------- 1,000 years
* Plastic Bags ----------------------------- 10-20 years
* Plastic Coated Paper ------------------------ 5 years
* Plastic Film Containers ---------------- 20-30 years
* Nylon Fabric --------------------------- 30-40 years
* Leather ------------------------------- up to 50 years
* Wool Socks --------------------------------- 1-5 years
* Orange and Banana peels ---------- up to 2 years
* Tin Cans ------------------------------------ 50 years
* Plastic six-pac holders ------------------- 100 years
* Plastic bottles and styrofoam --------Indefinitely
